To support a federal client's cyber security team, the full-time Penetration Tester will utilize automated tools and manual techniques to assess security controls across various information systems and networks, while documenting results and engaging with stakeholders. Key responsibilities Conduct security testing of web applications, APIs, operating systems, and network devices, documenting findings and providing recommendations Perform in-depth testing, including exploitation of agency assets to evaluate network resiliency and vulnerabilities Ensure the adequacy of current penetration testing tools and recommend additional software as needed for comprehensive security assessments Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related IT field 7+ years of relevant experience in software development, cyber security, and testing Proficiency in web application, API, and network testing, with experience in tools like Burp Suite Professional and Kali Linux Experience with scripting languages such as Python and/or PowerShell Recommended penetration testing certification, such as Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or GIAC certifications
